Urgent Needs for Psychosocial Support to Mitigate the Impact of War

The psychosocial dimension plays a crucial role in rebuilding communities and serves as a cornerstone of emergency humanitarian response aimed at supporting the Palestinian population in Gaza City particularly in light of the trauma resulting from the ongoing war of aggression and acts of genocide committed by the Israeli occupation against unarmed civilians.

As the war continues, the need for comprehensive psychosocial support programs becomes increasingly urgent to help alleviate trauma and strengthen social cohesion. Gaza Municipality calls on specialized international organizations to urgently provide the necessary support in this area to promote psychological and social well-being and to mitigate the devastating psychosocial consequences of the war.

The Israeli occupation has inflicted widespread destruction on the city’s cultural and social infrastructure as part of its systematic campaign, including the destruction of Gaza Municipality’s cultural centers, schools, universities, and a wide range of cultural and social institutions throughout the city.
