As part of a phased plan aimed at enabling residents to access their neighborhoods,

Gaza Municipality continues to clear and reopen streets blocked by destruction and debris.

Gaza Municipality is continuing its efforts to clear and reopen streets and roads in the western areas of the city, which were subjected to extensive destruction during the Israeli army’s incursions into the northern and southwestern parts of the city. These areas suffered severe damage as a result of the deliberate targeting of civilian buildings.

The Municipality explained that these works are being carried out as part of a phased plan that covers all accessible areas of the city. The plan aims to reopen main streets and facilitate residents’ movement back to their neighborhoods.

The works are being implemented in cooperation with the Arab International Committee for the Reconstruction of Palestine, and with the support of private-sector machinery, due to the destruction of nearly 85% of the Municipality’s fleet during the genocidal war.

The plan includes the reopening of several main streets, such as Al-Jalaa Street and its branches, Khalil Al-Wazir (Al-Lababidi) Street, Al-Nafaq Street, in addition to Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam, Al-Nasr, Omar Al-Mukhtar, Beirut, Al-Rashid, Salah Al-Din, Hameed, and Al-Qouqa Streets.

Gaza Municipality urgently appeals to international organizations to intervene swiftly to provide the necessary machinery and equipment to clear the streets, address urgent needs, and support the Municipality in restoring essential services that were destroyed during the aggression.
