أطلق اتحاد بلديات قطاع غزة نداء عاجلاً لتوفير الوقود وقطع غيار الآليات والمعدات والزيوت، محذّراً من أن استمرار الأزمة ونقص هذه الاحتياجات يفاقم من الكارثة الإنسانية ويهدد بتوقف الخدمات البلدية الأساسية بشكل تام.
جاء ذلك عقب اجتماع عقده الاتحاد في مقر بلدية غزة الرئيسي في ميدان فلسطين برئاسة رئيس بلدية غزة د. يحيى السراج، وحضور رؤساء بلديات القطاع. وناقش الاجتماع التحديات الراهنة التي تواجه البلديات وسط تفاقم أزمة المحروقات وقطع الغيار، واستمرار الحصار الذي يعطل عمل البلديات ويهدد بتوقف الخدمات الحيوية للمواطنين.
وأكّد الاتحاد أن نقص الوقود والزيوت الصناعية أدّى إلى توقف العديد من المعدات والآليات البلدية عن العمل، بما في ذلك المركبات الثقيلة والمعدات الخاصة بالبنية التحتية، ومولدات الكهرباء وآبار المياه ومحطات الصرف الصحي. وأشار إلى أن ذلك يفاقم معاناة المواطنين ويؤدي إلى تراكم النفايات في الشوارع، ويزيد من مخاطر انتشار الأمراض والحشرات والجرذان.
وشدّد الاتحاد على أن استمرار هذا الوضع يمثل تهديداً مباشراً للصحة العامة والبيئة، داعياً المجتمع الدولي والأمم المتحدة للتحرك الفوري برفع القيود المفروضة على عمل البلديات، والسماح بإدخال المحروقات وقطع الغيار والإطارات والمستلزمات التشغيلية الأساسية.
وأكّد الاتحاد على ضرورة تكثيف جهود التكافل لدعم البلديات والمناطق المتضررة، وتنسيق المساعدات العاجلة مع الجهات المانحة، ومعالجة أزمة مكبات النفايات في كافة المحافظات التي تعاني من نقص كبير في أماكن الترحيل. وأوضح أن هذا يضمن حماية الصحة العامة والبيئة، كما شدّد على ضرورة دعم البلديات من خلال تنفيذ مشاريع عاجلة في قطاع البنية التحتية، وتأهيل المعدات والآليات المتهالكة لضمان استمرارية تقديم الخدمات الأساسية، بما يشمل فتح الشوارع وإزالة الركام وتشغيل آبار المياه ومحطات الصرف الصحي.
وحذّر الاتحاد من أن أي تأخير في الاستجابة لهذه التحديات قد يؤدي إلى كارثة شاملة لا يمكن السيطرة عليها، داعياً كافة الجهات الرسمية والدولية إلى التحرك الفوري لإنقاذ ما تبقى من مقومات الحياة في قطاع غزة.

Gaza Municipalities Union Issues Urgent Appeal for Fuel and Spare Parts Supply
The Gaza Municipalities Union has issued an urgent appeal for the provision of fuel, spare parts for machinery and equipment, and lubricating oils. The statement warned that the continued crisis and shortage of these essential supplies exacerbates the humanitarian disaster and threatens to bring municipal basic services to a complete halt.
This came following a meeting held by the Union at the headquarters of Gaza Municipality in Palestine Square, chaired by Gaza Municipality Mayor Dr. Yahya Al-Sarraj, with the participation of municipal heads from across the Gaza Strip. The meeting addressed the current challenges facing municipalities amid the escalating fuel and spare parts crisis and the ongoing blockade that disrupts municipal operations and threatens to halt vital services for citizens.
The Union emphasized that the shortage of fuel and industrial lubricants has caused numerous municipal equipment and machinery to cease operations, including heavy vehicles, infrastructure equipment, electricity generators, water wells, and wastewater treatment stations. It noted that this situation exacerbates citizen suffering, leads to garbage accumulation in streets, and increases the risk of disease, pest, and rodent infestation.
The Union stressed that the continuation of this situation poses a direct threat to public health and the environment. It called on the international community and the United Nations to take immediate action to lift restrictions on municipal operations and allow the entry of fuel, spare parts, tires, and essential operational supplies.
The Union affirmed the necessity of intensifying solidarity efforts to support affected municipalities and regions, coordinating emergency assistance with donor organizations, and addressing the waste disposal crisis across all governorates, which faces a severe shortage of disposal sites. It emphasized the importance of protecting public health and the environment and stressed the need to support municipalities through implementing urgent infrastructure projects and rehabilitating deteriorated equipment and machinery to ensure the continuation of essential services. These services include street opening, debris removal, water well operation, and wastewater treatment station management.
The Union warned that any delay in responding to these challenges could lead to a comprehensive disaster beyond control, calling on all official and international parties to take immediate action to save what remains of life's necessities in the Gaza Strip.
