نظّم موظفو بلدية غزة، صباح اليوم، وقفة احتجاجية على مفترق السرايا غرب المدينة، للمطالبة بتوفير رواتبهم، في ظل الأوضاع المالية الصعبة التي تمر بها البلدية بسبب تداعيات حرب الإبادة، وذلك بمشاركة واسعة من الموظفين وحضور وسائل إعلام محلية ودولية.
ورفع المشاركون لافتات تحمل شعارات مطلبية، تدعو الجهات المعنية إلى التدخل العاجل لتأمين رواتب العاملين، وضمان الحد الأدنى من مقومات الحياة الكريمة، تقديراً لجهودهم المستمرة في تقديم الخدمات البلدية رغم شح الموارد، واستشهاد 70 موظف من زملائهم خلال تأدية واجبهم المهني والإنساني أثناء الحرب.
وألقى د. صقر حلس كلمة نيابة عن الموظفين، أكد فيها أن الوقفة تهدف لإيصال رسالة واضحة لجميع الجهات الرسمية والدولية، مفادها ضرورة تحمّل المسؤولية تجاه موظفي البلدية، وتمكينهم من الاستمرار في أداء واجبهم تجاه سكان المدينة.
وأوضح أن طواقم البلدية لم تتوقف عن العمل طوال فترة الحرب، بل كانت في الميدان لخدمة المواطنين، والحفاظ على استمرارية المرافق الأساسية، رغم انقطاع الرواتب والتحديات الكبيرة التي واجهتهم.
ودعا د. حلس الحكومة الفلسطينية والمؤسسات الدولية والجهات المانحة إلى التدخل العاجل لإنهاء الأزمة وضمان صرف الرواتب للعاملين في بلدية غزة.
وأكد الموظفون عزمهم مواصلة فعالياتهم المطلبية حتى يتم الاستجابة لمطالبهم المشروعة، بما يضمن كرامتهم ويعزز قدرتهم على الاستمرار في أداء مهامهم.
وكانت بلدية غزة قد أعلنت في وقت سابق عن أزمة مالية خانقة تعاني منها نتيجة حرب الإبادة، وعدم قدرتها على صرف رواتب موظفيها بشكل منتظم، مكتفية بتقديم سلف مالية محدودة منذ أكتوبر 2023.

Gaza Municipality Employees Organize Protest to Demand Salaries
Employees of Gaza Municipality organized a protest this morning at Al-Saraya crossroad in western Gaza City, calling for the provision of their salaries amid the severe financial crisis the municipality is facing due to the ongoing consequences of the Genocide. The demonstration witnessed a large turnout of employees and received coverage from both local and international media outlets.
Protesters carried placards with demands urging all relevant authorities to ensure the payment of salaries and to provide municipal workers with the minimum means for a dignified life. They emphasized their continued commitment to delivering essential public services under extremely difficult conditions, despite limited resources and the loss of colleagues who were martyred during the war.
Dr. Saqr Halles, speaking on behalf of the employees, stated that the protest aimed to deliver a clear message to all concerned parties: take responsibility and secure the salaries of Gaza Municipality employees to enable them to continue serving the city and its residents.
He stressed that the municipality and its staff stood by the people of Gaza during the most challenging times and continued their work throughout the war to strengthen public resilience and provide basic services—despite the lack of financial compensation.
Dr. Halles appealed to the Palestinian government and international organizations for urgent intervention to support the municipality by ensuring the payment of salaries.
Municipal employees confirmed their intention to continue peaceful protest actions until their legitimate demands are met in a way that safeguards their dignity and guarantees the continued delivery of essential services.
The municipality had earlier announced that it is experiencing a severe financial shortfall and is currently unable to provide full salaries, offering only minimal financial advances since the start of the war in October 2023.
