بدأت بلدية غزة تنفيذ مشروع تنظيف أحواض محطة معالجة الصرف الصحي في منطقة الشيخ عجلين، جنوب المدينة، والتي تعرضت لأضرار كبيرة خلال حرب الإبادة، وذلك بالتعاون مع مصلحة مياه بلديات الساحل، وبتمويل من منظمة الطفولة العالمية "اليونيسف".
ويهدف المشروع إلى تهيئة محطة المعالجة وتأهيل الأحواض اللاهوائية داخل المحطة، من خلال تنظيف الرواسب والحمأة المترسبة في أرضيات الأحواض، وإجراء أعمال صيانة لحواف الأحواض.
وقد تعرضت المحطة لأضرار جسيمة، شملت تدميراً كاملاً لنظام المعالجة الهوائية، وأنظمة الكهرباء، والخلايا الشمسية، ما أدى إلى توقفها عن العمل منذ بداية حرب الإبادة في أكتوبر من عام 2023.
وستعمل المحطة، بعد تهيئتها، على معالجة جزئية لمياه الصرف الصحي بنسبة لا تزيد على 50%، إلى حين استكمال إعادة إعمار المحطة بشكل كامل، بما يشمل إعادة إنشاء أبراج المعالجة الهوائية وتوفير مصدر دائم للطاقة الكهربائية.

Launch of a Project to Clean Wastewater Treatment Ponds at the Treatment Plant

Gaza Municipality has begun implementing a project to clean the ponds of the wastewater treatment plant in Sheikh Ajleen area, south of the city, which sustained significant damage during the war of genocide. The project is being carried out in cooperation with the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility and funded by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
The project aims to prepare the treatment plant and rehabilitate the anaerobic ponds within the facility by removing accumulated sediments and sludge from the pond beds, as well as carrying out maintenance works on the pond embankments.
The plant sustained severe damage, including the complete destruction of the aerobic treatment system, electrical systems, and solar panels, which led to its shutdown since the beginning of the war of genocide in October 2023.
Following its rehabilitation, the plant will operate at a partial capacity, treating no more than 50% of the wastewater, until the full reconstruction of the facility is completed, including the rebuilding of the aerobic treatment units and the provision of a permanent electricity supply.
