Gaza Municipality Begins Rehabilitation of a Sewer Line on Amman Street

Gaza Municipality has commenced rehabilitation works on the main sewer line on Amman Street, branching from Beirut Street, which was damaged as a result of Israeli bombardment of the area during the war of genocide. The line serves wide areas along Cairo Street and the surrounding neighborhoods.

The municipality explained that the works include rehabilitating a 30-meter section of the line, with a diameter of 16 inches and a depth of 5 meters, in order to address the damage that led to sewage leakage in the area. All works are expected to be completed within 24 hours.

It further indicated that approximately 212,000 linear meters of sewer networks, in addition to 8 pumping stations, have sustained varying degrees of damage as a result of the war of genocide.

The municipality calls on international organizations to urgently intervene and provide emergency needs, including pipes, cement, machinery, and equipment, and to help mitigate the escalating health and environmental crisis facing the city.
