Gaza Municipality Conducts Public Electronic Lottery to Select “Makers of Beauty” Workers

Gaza Municipality conducted today, Sunday, a live public electronic lottery to select beneficiaries for the “Cash for Work” sanitation workers project under the title “Makers of Beauty,” in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross. The municipality affirmed that the selection process was carried out electronically and live to ensure the principles of transparency and integrity.

The lottery was conducted in the presence of the Director General of Planning and Investment, Eng. Maher Salem, a number of municipal employees, representatives of neighborhood committees, and representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The municipality explained that the lottery was broadcast live through Gaza Municipality’s official Facebook page and resulted in the selection of 150 workers, in addition to a reserve list of 35 workers to be called upon in the event that any selected candidate withdraws or fails to pass the interviews.

The municipality added that it received applications from individuals wishing to join the project during the registration period, noting that approximately 12,137 applicants met the eligibility criteria out of a total of 18,143 applications submitted for the employment opportunity.

The municipality emphasized that being selected in the lottery does not mean immediate employment, but rather qualification for interviews, adding that shortlisted candidates will be contacted later to complete the required procedures.
