بلدية غزة وبلدية رياتشي الإيطالية تبحثان سبل تعزيز التعاون المشترك

بحث رئيس بلدية غزة، د. يحيى السراج، مع رئيس بلدية رياتشي الإيطالية، ميمو لوتشانو، سبل تعزيز التعاون المشترك بين الجانبين، وذلك خلال لقاء عُقد عبر الاتصال المرئي، بحضور منسق وحدة التعاون الدولي في بلدية غزة، م. محمد الشقرا، إلى جانب رئيس البلدية، فيما شارك عن بلدية رياتشي عضو المجلس البلدي سوزان فطاير، وممثلو وسائل الإعلام والنشطاء من مدينة رياتشي.
وجرى خلال اللقاء بحث أوجه التعاون في إطار اتفاقية التوأمة بين البلديتين، واستعراض أهدافها الإنسانية، إلى جانب مناقشة الأوضاع الإنسانية في قطاع غزة، كما تم عرض تجربة بلدية رياتشي في مشروع القرية العالمية لإيواء المهاجرين في المدينة.
وأعرب رئيس بلدية غزة عن شكره لبلدية رياتشي ورئيسها على المبادرة الشجاعة بعقد اتفاقية توأمة مع بلدية غزة، مؤكدا أن هذه الاتفاقية تحمل رسالة دعمٍ معنويٍّ كبيرٍ لأهالي غزة، في ظل الأوضاع الإنسانية الصعبة التي تعيشها المدينة نتيجة حرب الإبادة.
من جانبه، أكد رئيس بلدية رياتشي الإيطالية أن اتفاقية التوأمة تمثل رسالة تضامنٍ إنسانيٍّ قويةٍ مع الشعب الفلسطيني الذي يتعرض لحرب إبادة، مشددًا على حق البلديات في بناء علاقات تضامن دولية مع بلديات العالم، بعيدًا عن الضغوط السياسية التي تمارسها الحكومة الإيطالية.
وأكد الجانبان أهمية اتفاقية التوأمة بين الطرفين، ودعم بلدية رياتشي الإنساني لمدينة غزة وأهلها، وتعزيز حضور القضية الفلسطينية في الرأي العام الإيطالي، إلى جانب التأكيد على استقلالية القرار المحلي في تبنّي المبادرات الإنسانية الدولية.
واتفق الطرفان على متابعة تنفيذ اتفاقية التوأمة من خلال برامج وأنشطة مشتركة مستقبلًا، وتعزيز التعاون في المجالات الإنسانية والتضامنية والثقافية، والاستمرار في تسليط الضوء على الأوضاع الإنسانية في قطاع غزة.

In Affirmation of the Twinning Agreement and in Shedding Light on the Humanitarian Situation
Gaza Municipality and the Italian Municipality of Riace Discuss Ways to Strengthen Mutual Cooperation
The Mayor of Gaza Municipality, Dr. Yahya Al-Sarraj, held a virtual meeting with the Mayor of Riace Municipality, Mr. Mimmo Lucano, to discuss ways to strengthen mutual cooperation between the two municipalities.
The meeting was attended by the International Cooperation Unit Coordinator at Gaza Municipality, Eng. Mohammad Al-Shaqra, alongside the Mayor of Gaza. On behalf of Riace Municipality, Ms. Susan Ftayer, a member of the Municipal Council, participated, in addition to representatives of media outlets and activists from the city of Riace.
During the meeting, both parties discussed areas of cooperation within the framework of the twinning agreement between the two municipalities and reviewed its humanitarian objectives. The discussions also addressed the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and included a presentation of Riace Municipality’s experience in implementing the “Global Village” project for hosting and accommodating migrants in the city.
The Mayor of Gaza expressed his appreciation to Riace Municipality and its Mayor for the courageous initiative to establish a twinning agreement with Gaza Municipality, emphasizing that the agreement conveys a strong message of moral support to the people of Gaza amid the severe humanitarian conditions resulting from the ongoing war of genocide.
For his part, the Mayor of Riace affirmed that the twinning agreement represents a powerful message of humanitarian solidarity with the Palestinian people, who are subjected to a war of genocide. He stressed the right of municipalities to build international solidarity relations with municipalities worldwide, free from political pressures imposed by the Italian government.
Both parties underscored the importance of the twinning agreement, Riace Municipality’s humanitarian support for Gaza and its residents, strengthening the presence of the Palestinian cause in Italian public opinion, and reaffirming the independence of local decision-making in adopting international humanitarian initiatives.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed to follow up on the implementation of the twinning agreement through future joint programs and activities, enhance cooperation in humanitarian, solidarity, and cultural fields, and continue shedding light on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
