استأنفت بلدية غزة، بالتعاون مع مركز رواق للمعمار الشعبي، أعمال ترميم عددٍ من المباني الأثرية في المدينة، وذلك ضمن مذكرة التفاهم الموقّعة بين الجانبين، والتي كانت قد توقفت بسبب حرب الإبادة.
وتشمل المباني التي تم تسليمها وبدء العمل فيها: المسجد العمري الكبير، وسوق القيسارية، ومبنى البلدية الرئيس في ميدان فلسطين، ودار فرح.
وأوضحت البلدية أن الاحتلال الإسرائيلي ألحق دماراً واسعاً بالمباني الأثرية في المدينة، مؤكدةً أن أعمال الترميم تأتي في إطار جهودها الرامية إلى الحفاظ على الموروث العمراني والتاريخي لمدينة غزة، وصون هويتها الثقافية الأصيلة.

Gaza Municipality Resumes Restoration Works on Heritage Buildings in the City

Gaza Municipality, in cooperation with the Riwaq Center for Architectural Conservation, has resumed restoration works on several heritage buildings in the city, under the memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties, which had been suspended due to the war of extermination.
The buildings handed over and currently under restoration include the Great Omari Mosque, Al-Qaysariyya Market, Gaza Municipality’s main building at Palestine Square, and Dar Farah.
The municipality stated that the Israeli occupation has caused extensive destruction to many heritage buildings across the city, emphasizing that these restoration works are part of its ongoing efforts to preserve Gaza’s architectural and historical heritage and to safeguard its authentic cultural identity.
